POP3 is the traditional post office protocol version 3. It is the recommended method for a person who works from a single office or a single portable computer. In this method, your email program takes responsibilty for storing and managing your Email messages.
IMAP is a newer protocol which is useful for people who work from various locations with more than one computer and/or portable device. To upgrade from POP3 to IMAP, change your Email program to specify an IMAP mail server. Our mail server will automatically detect your settings and cooperate with your Email program.
Caution: Changing Email program settings from POP3 to IMAP will probably result in losing mail from your Email program. Completely backup your Email program data, and copy messages in your InBox, OutBox, Drafts, Sent Mail, to backup mail folders before making this change.
