Web Mail Support

Web Mail supports reading, composing, and sending Email from a web page, rather than from an Email program. It's most useful when you are away from your personal computer and/or ISP.

Web Mail Support Topics

Accessing your Web Mail

Secure Web Mail access is available for customers who use an Email box at their WebValence-hosted domain. Customers who have their mail forwarded to their local ISP do not have this option.

From any web browser, go to the Web Mail page that is associated with your Email account. The secure address for Web Mail login page is:

https://mail.webvalence.com/

To login, enter the Email address and password for your mail box. It's the same as you use in the settings of your Email program.

The Web Mail environment

Web Mail has a common place format with an options area on the left margin and contents at right.

The options area has two modes: Menu View and Folder View.

These are distinctly different in appearance, as illustrated and explained below.

Menu View
Web Mail MenuWeb Mail Menu View provides a menu of options, at right. Menu options are the following:

Compose - Compose a new message and optionally send it.

Incoming Mail - View the contents of your Web Mail Inbox.

Junk Mail - Access your Postini spam and virus message quarantine.

Calendar - Access your calendar.

Contacts - Access your contacts

Main Tasks - Access your To-Do Tasks

Notes Folder - Access your Notes folder

Mail Folders - Switch the left margin to Folder View.

Settings - Access your Web Mail preferences. Vacation autoresponders are setup in this option.

Mail Rules - Create rules for processing incoming mail. Useful for creating permanent responders. Occasionally used to sort mail.

Domain Admin - Administer Email for this domains. (Requires Administrator privileges)

Log Out - Log out of Web Mail and return to the Web Mail login page.

Folder View
Web Mail FoldersA list of Folders replaces the Menu Bar in Folder View, at right. Folders may include Email, Events, Tasks, Contacts, Drafts and Notes. A number to the right of each folder name reveals the count of items in that folder.

Select a Folder Name to view the contents of that folder in the view area at right. Select a Folder Icon to view controls for that folder.

You may add custom new folders with the [Add New] hyperlink. For example, you could add a folder for History as illustrated in the example at right.

Below the list of folders is an area labeled Filter. This allows you to search through custom folders that you have created. This would be useful if you created dozens of custom folders.

At the bottom of the filter area is graphical gauge of storage capacity and storage currently in use.

Return to Menu View: Web Mail Chevron Icon Select the chevron symbol in the light blue horizontal bar to hide the folders and return to Menu View.

Folder View Icon Bar
Five graphical icons at the top of Folder View allow you to compose a message, manage settings, manage rules, read Communigate Pro help, and logout, respectively. Mouse over and wait to see a tool tip for each of the icons.

The Compose icon (looks like an Envelope) at top left includes a small downward-facing disclosure triangle. Select this to reveal a series of options for accessing different composing tasks:
